About

Jamie Simpher graduated from the University of Iowa in 2014. After nearly a decade as a professional writer in the world of advertising, she quit to pursue an MFA in creative writing at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. One day, she aspires to be a swashbuckling pirate captain sailing the high seas. Her work has been published in Small Wonders Magazine, Flame Tree’s Circe Anthology, and Broad River Review. She recently won the 24-Hour Short Story Contest, took third prize in the New Writers 1,000-Word Short Story Competition, and was nominated for a Rhysling Award. She loves yoga, cooking, and travel. She is a recluse on social media, but if you insist, her Instagram handle is @average_pirate.
